Heather trained with Gabrielle Roth and was certified to teach in 2011. Since then she has taught 5Rhythms all over Los Angeles and in Europe and Asia. She will be teaching in Hong Kong in July, 2016.

The 5Rhythms are:

  • FLOWING: Grounding and awakening. The gentle, fluid, continuous flow of energy. Connecting our feet to the earth drawing energy up through our body, expressing in circuitous spirals. Open, receptive, internal connection with self. Focusing on the inhale. We let in.  
  • STACCATO: Energy moves out through short, sharp, percussive beats. Focused, clear, direct. Body parts express through straight lines and angular shapes. Masculine in nature. Extending out to connect with others. Connecting us to our passions and desires. Expressing warm, explosive fire energy through our hips. Focusing on the exhale. We let out. 
  • CHAOS: Surrender. The head lets go and there is complete physical release through grounded, yet unpredictable feet. Watery in nature. Blood, sweat, and tears. Intellect gives way to intuition. Ecstatic liberation. The breath moves effortlessly in and out. Cleansing. We let go.
  • LYRICAL: The light side of surrender. The sunshine after the storm. Our hands reach out from our hearts and express our individuality. Easy and effortless. Melodic in nature. Repetitious movements reflect personal patterns and reveal meaning. Spiritually connected. Airy and free. We let go of letting go. 
  • STILLNESS: The supreme, subtle silence that resonates within our center, our soul. Our essence, distinct and distilled dancing its truth. We are completely unique and at the same time connected to everything. We let BE.

The 5Rhythms® is a simple, dynamic moving meditation practice that anyone – of any age, size, or physical ability - can do.There are no steps to follow, no choreography to learn, no way to do it wrong. The only requirement is a body that is still breathing, a heart that is still beating, and a mind that is still curious!

Akin to light, sound or ocean waves, a dancing body when moving freely passes through distinct rhythmic patterns. These patterns continuously repeat themselves in a wave of motion.
